This past weekend I was able to make the trek to Victoria, British Columbia to attend a small social distancing launch party for the Art Bird Card Project held at Bilston Creek Farm. I’ve posted before about how I did a painting of a chickadee to go in a deck of bird identification/education cards. It was a very cool experience and I’m proud to have been a part of this collaborative project between artists, the Metchosin Foundation, the Rocky Point Bird Observatory and the Metchosin ArtPod. The cards were enlarged and put on display around the beautiful venue. The deck is full of beautiful artwork and facts about each bird, there are 36 cards (36 artists) and these cards can be purchased in person at the Metchosin ArtPod, the Metchosin Foundation, the Rocky Point Bird Observatory, Bilston Creek Farm or by ordering online through The Metchosin Biodiversity Project.
Here are a few more pictures, the two collages were put together by Memet Burnett from the Metchosin ArtPod of some of the artists beside and enlarged version of their cards.
Edit 2020-07-02:
Memet Burnett just shared with me a picture of what the cards look like all set up in the Methosin ArtPod Gallery. So I’ve also added that below!
