Hello everyone,

I wanted to do an update to talk about a few things that have happened and are happening. As always I recommend following me on social media to stay up to date! Also, please check out my PRESS page to keep up with recent videos and articles about my practice and other work that I’m involved in such as this video of my speech about the symbol for the New Student Orientation at the University of the Fraser Valley.

I have a Patreon! If you’re interested in supporting me and my practice on a monthly basis with a variety of rewards options please check it out! I illustrate colouring pages and wall papers and there is a tier for physical rewards such as prints and stickers!

I was nominated for and won an Arty Award. These awards are given to local artists from Abbotsford, British Columbia through the Abbotsford Arts Council. I won in the category of Media Arts. You can still watch the award show on Youtube and the University of the Fraser Valley published an article about the Awards as well!

I had a lot of opportunities to work on public artwork recently. I worked on the 2020 CitiSeen Mural, which is an annual public art initiative and part of the Emerge Program at The Reach Gallery. Our lead artist was Sean Karemaker and the other artists were Dona Park, Natalie Scott and Jay Rettich. You can watch a video (by Joseph Klymkiw) about the project here. Dona Park and I were interviewed about the mural in this article by Andrea Sadowski from the Cascade.

I spent a lot of time in Chilliwack during the month of August, I had the opportunity to have one of my designs installed as a vinyl mural for the Chilliwack Mural Festival. I also had the opportunity to assist Indigenous artist Carrielynn Victor on her mural for the festival! Check out this virtual tour of the mural festival by Drone 360 FX (use the “ALL” tab to quickly find both my vinyl mural and Carrielynn Victors mural). After the mural festival there was the Vedder Art Walk where I was commissioned by both the Chilliwack Arts Council and the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce to paint a 4′ x 6′ painting and attend the walk. The painting may be housed temporarily in Chilliwack as a mural at a later date.

I have a few things coming up in November. I will be participating in the Artsyker Fall 2020 Event with some other awesome local artists. Come hang out with us on Zoom and chat about Art and community. Tickets are Free! (we would love to have an idea of how many would like to attend, so please grab a ticket if you’re interested).

I will also be in an art exhibit, “Dis(place)ment: Explorations of Place, Past, Present and Future”, featured at Skwachay’s Lodge & Gallery. The exhibit will run from November 7th – 21st; gallery hours are from 10 am to 5pm, Monday – Sunday.

Three of my paintings are being auctioned off (as a set) for the Pacific Wild Auction 2020 to help fund their 2021 campaigns! The auction starts on November 9th, share with your friends! Link to the auction in bio! Check out the work they do.
